JBL Synthesis Releases the SDP-80 Home Cinema Surround Sound Processor

Includes 36-channel immersive audio support and HDMI 2.1 connectivity.

Harman Luxury Audio Group has announced the launch of the JBL Synthesis SDP-80, the latest evolution in home cinema surround processing. Building upon the SDP-75, the new SDP-80 expands JBL Synthesis’ legacy of high-performance audio solutions with cutting-edge processing, 36-channel immersive audio support, and HDMI 2.1 connectivity.

With eight HDMI 2.1 inputs and two outputs, the SDP-80 supports 48 Gbps bandwidth, allowing 8K resolution at 60 frames per second and 4K at 120 frames per second with HDR. Advanced video pass-through, including HDR10, Dolby Vision, and HDCP 2.3 support, ensures pristine visual fidelity for modern entertainment systems.

The JBL Synthesis SDP-80 features 36 channels of high-resolution processing, delivering immersive audio via Dolby Atmos, DTS:X Pro, and Auro-3D. Equipped with Trinnov Optimizer EQ room correction for use with the Harman Target Curve, the processor ensures optimal system tuning, enhancing accuracy across JBL Synthesis loudspeakers. As an evolution of the SDP-75 platform, the SDP-80 includes the latest updates, including new audio DACs along with a new motherboard and power supply for faster switching and improved audio performance.

Designed for seamless control and integration, the SDP-80 features balanced XLR multichannel outputs, AES3 digital connectivity, and Roon Ready high resolution music streaming. Additionally, network-based control with AMX, Crestron, and Savant modules are available.
