Premium Audio Company Announces Firmware Updates

Premium Audio Company has released several firmware updates for its AV receivers and Hi-Fi stereo receivers that improve audio playback, functionality, and room correction experience on select Onkyo, Integra, Elite, and Pioneer models.

For the following models, new firmware enhancements will be available on October 28 and November 18:

Onkyo: TX-RZ70 (11/18), TX-RZ50 (10/28), TX-NR7100 (10/28), TX-NR6100 (10/28), TX-NR5100 (10/28), TX-NR6050 (10/28), TX-8470 (11/18)
Integra: DRX-8.4 (11/18), DRX-5.4 (10/28), DRX-3.4 (10/28), DTM-7.4 (11/18)

Enhancements include:

Dirac Live Bass Control — Onkyo TX-RZ50 and Integra DRX-5.4 models only. By purchasing a license at the Dirac Live Store, you can add Dirac Live Bass Control Single Version from the Dirac Live Full Bandwidth feature. Note: AV receivers Onkyo TX-RZ70, Integra DRX-8.4, Elite VSX-LX805, and Pioneer VSA-LX805 are already installed.
Amazon Music HD Add-On — Onkyo TX-RZ50, TX-NR7100, TX-NR6100, TX-NR6050, TX-NR5100, Integra DRX-5.4, DRX-3.4, DRX-2.4, Elite/Pioneer VSX-LX505, VSX-LX305, VX-LX105 and Pioneer VSX-935 models only. By supporting Amazon Music HD, Amazon Music Unlimited’s High Definition (HD) and Ultra High Definition (Ultra HD) audio formats can be played on smartphone applications from Onkyo, Integra, and Pioneer. Note: AV receivers Onkyo TX-RZ70, Integra DRX-8.4, Elite VSX-LX805, Pioneer VSA-LX805 and Stereo Receivers Onkyo TX-8470, and Integra DTM-7.4 are already installed.
Dolby Atmos Music Playback Capability for Amazon Music HD and Tidal Native Playback — Onkyo TX-RZ50, TX-NR7100, TX-NR6100, TX-NR6050, TX-NR5100, Integra DRX-5.4, DRX-3.4, DRX-2.4, Elite/Pioneer VSX-LX505, VSX-305, VSX-105 and Pioneer VSX-935 models only. Dolby Atmos Music uses Dolby Atmos technology to elevate audio experiences beyond the realm of movies and TV, allowing music creators to produce and mix music with spatial audio elements for a more immersive experience. With this new firmware update, these AVRs now play Dolby Atmos content via Amazon Music HD and Tidal Native Playback. Note: AV receivers Onkyo TX-RZ70, Integra DRX-8.4, Elite VSX-LX805, and Pioneer VSA-LX805 are already installed.
Source-Based Tone Mapping for HDMI 2.1a — Onkyo TX-RZ50, TX-NR7100, TX-NR6100, TX-NR6050, TX-NR5100, Integra DRX-5.4, DRX-3.4, DRX-2.4, Elite/Pioneer VSX-LX505, VSX-LX305, VSX-LX105 and Pioneer VSX-935 models only. Source-Based Tone Mapping (SBTM) allows a portion of the HDR mapping to be performed by the source device, not the display device, automatically producing an optimized HDR signal to maximize processing and display capabilities without manual user configuration. Note: AV receivers Onkyo TX-RZ70, Integra DRX-8.4, Elite VSX-LX805, Pioneer VSA-LX805, and stereo receivers Onkyo TX-8470 and Integra DTM-7.4 are already installed.
Improved Amplifier Power supply sequence — Onkyo TX-RZ50, TX-NR7100, TX-NR6100, TX-NR6050, TX-NR5100, Integra DRX-5.4, DRX-3.4, DRX-2.4, Elite/Pioneer VSX-LX505, VSX-LX305, VSX-LX105 and Pioneer VSX-935 models only. Improvement of the relay sound from the inside of the product in a silent state. Note: AV receivers Onkyo TX-RZ70, Integra DRX-8.4, Elite VSX-LX805, and Pioneer VSA-LX805 are already installed.
Google Cast 2.0 — Onkyo TX-RZ70, TX-RZ50, TX-NR7100, TX-NR6100, TX-NR6050, TX-NR5100, Integra DRX-8.4DRX-5.4, DRX-3.4, DRX-2.4, , Elite/Pioneer VSX-LX805, VSX-LX505, VSX-LX305, VSX-LX105, Pioneer VSA-LX805 and VSX-935 models only. The setup screens for Onkyo, Integra, and Pioneer smartphone applications have been changed to allow products to be easily connected using the Google Cast 2.0 network connection method. Note: Stereo receivers Onkyo TX-8470 and Integra DTM-7.4 are already installed.
Support Tidal MAX — Onkyo TX-RZ70, TX-RZ50, TX-NR7100, TX-NR6100, TX-NR6050, TX-NR5100, TX-8470,Integra DRX-8.4 DRX-5.4, DRX-3.4, DRX-2.4, DTM-7.4, Elite/Pioneer VSX-LX805, VSX-LX505, VSX-LX305, VSX-LX105, Pioneer VSA-LX805 and VSX-935 models only. Tidal Max can play Hi-Res Lossless Audio Codec content up to 192 kHz/24-bit with smartphone applications from Onkyo, Integra, and Pioneer.
Improve the Dirac Live measurement on the Onkyo/Integra/Pioneer Application — Onkyo TX-RZ70, TX-RZ50, TX-NR7100, Integra DRX-8.4 DRX-5.4, DRX-3.4, Elite/Pioneer VSX-LX805, VSX-LX505, VSX-LX305, and Pioneer VSA-LX805 models only. Reduced the rate at which measurement errors appear in Onkyo/Integra/Pioneer application. This contributes to a smooth completion of the measurement. This firmware update will be indicated via on-screen display and front panel display for Onkyo, Elite, and Pioneer models connected to the internet. For non-connected devices, software can be downloaded from the website and uploaded via USB drive. The firmware update will be available on the Integra AVR by navigating to the “Setup Firmware Menu” and following the on-screen prompts.
