StormAudio has launched the Impulsion 8, a fully digital, network-aware amplifier. Moving beyond traditional amplification, the Impulsion 8 combines Class-D power with native AolP (AES67/Dante) connectivity and embedded DSP, offering integrators a smart, seamlessly integrated endpoint for the next generation of immersive home cinemas.
First unveiled at CEDIA Expo 2025 — where it received a Residential Systems Best of Show Award — the Impulsion 8 reflects StormAudio’s long-standing commitment to innovation, future-proof solutions and integration-first design.
Housed in a compact 2RU chassis, the Impulsion 8 addresses the evolving needs of integrators who demand uncompromising power without the bulk. Powered by the latest Pascal Audio UMAC Class-D technology and a UREC 3600W power supply, it delivers 200W (80) per channel, or up to 800W (80) or 1200W (40) Peak power in BridgedTied Load (BTL) mode. This architecture ensures thermal efficiency and dynamic performance.
What sets the Impulsion 8 apart from conventional amplifiers is its advanced intelligence. The introduction of AolP (AES67/Dante) inputs enables the amplifier to integrate natively into IP-based systems, creating streamlined, fully digital installations with reduced cabling.
Going beyond simple connectivity, the Impulsion 8 will also feature, later in 2026, full DSP integration directly at the amplifier level. System designers will access PEQ, FIR filters, limiters, and gain control for each channel, enabling precise calibration, phase alignment, and speaker protection without the need for external processing.
Designed to save time and ensure reliability, the Impulsion 8 offers tight integration with the StormAudio ecosystem. When paired with a StormAudio processor, the amplifier is automatically detected and configured, drastically reducing setup time.
Through StormMonitoring, integrators benefit from real-time visibility of the amplifier’s status via its embedded WebUI, ensuring easier management, diagnostics, and long-term support -both locally and remotely.
Key Features:
