Shelly has announced the release of the Shelly BLU Button1, the first device from its Bluetooth line, which is designed to enhance the smart home experience. The Shelly BLU Button1 serves as the perfect addition to the existing WLAN-enabled Shelly Button1, offering an alternative control method during Wi-Fi interference or unavailability. Equipped with encrypted Bluetooth technology and supporting the BT home standard, the mobile button enables users to control individual Shelly devices or entire scenarios with a single click. The Shelly BLU Button1 uses the BLE protocol, providing rapid response times for pre-set commands via the Shelly Cloud, and access to endless actions through scripting functionality.
Compact and portable, the Shelly BLU Button1 can be stored in a pocket for remote control of outdoor lighting, access, or garage doors within a range of 10 meters indoors and 20 meters outdoors. With the ability to turn on/off appliances, dim lights, and activate scenes, the Shelly BLU Button1 also features sound and light alerts, encryption, and a Hush mode for silent operation.
The integrated “Find Me” function, activated by beacon mode, helps locate misplaced buttons with acoustic and visual signals. Its low energy consumption ensures a long-lasting button cell battery life of up to two years.
