Elite Screens is offering a new Modular Projection Screen feature to its Raptor line. Now the entire screen assembly is now detachable from its furniture housing to function independently as its own free-standing front projection surface.

“Since many installers and consumers have requested an optional product that is simpler in design than the full Raptor media stand, Elite has replied with a stylish and more compact alternative” Elite Screens marketing manager Dave Rodgers. “The design is both simple and elegant by itself. In addition to that, installers are pleased with its sheer aesthetics and just how easily it installs.”

One of the most important features is that the modular unit is available unfinished so that it can be incorporated into custom furniture integration.

The Raptor Screen Modular Units use Elite’s CineWhite Tension material for enhanced flatness. It is a 1.1 gain material that has full diffusion uniformity and is black-backed to eliminate light penetration. For those interested in non-tensioned material, units with Maxwhite 1.1 gain non-tensioned material are available as well.

Elite’s Raptor Modular Unit is an electric self-standing projection screen for installations when wall or ceiling screen installations are not practical. It is housed in an elegantly crafted wood-furniture housing that comes in a cherry finish with unfinished variants available for custom furniture integration.

Elite’s Raptor Modular (non-tensioned) models come in two sizes: 84 inches or 92 inches measured diagonally with a 16:9 aspect ratio. The Raptor Tensioned Modular units come in three sizes: 78 inches, 84 inches, and 92 inches diagonally also in 16:9.

Raptor modular units utilize a motorized cross-rising “scissor” mechanism for versatility in placement and convenient integration. It is driven by a tubular motor that has a superior weight tolerance and operational lifespan.

Elite’s Raptor Modular units provide a wide variety of control options for increased flexibility. Each unit has the ability to be used with a 5-12V wireless trigger for drop/rise synchronization with a projector’s power cycle. In addition to this, infrared and radio frequency (IR/RF) receivers and remotes are included. The RF remote provides a superior range of wireless operation without the necessity for line-of-sight contact. The ZR800D IR universal learning remote allows simultaneous screen operation with up to eight different media devices. Both the RF remote and a ZR800D IR universal learning remote are included. Lastly, the Raptor Module Units come with an added safety feature. The “Safe-Stop” Infrared sensor instantly halts the screen’s closing operation when foreign objects such as little hands are detected.

Elite Screens’ Raptor modular units are priced at $3,263 USD.
