ICE Cable Systems Ships Entry-Level Bulk Wire ICE Cable Systems plans to launch its Primal bulk wire series at ISE 2016. By RS Staff Published: January 21, 2016 ⋅ Updated: April 15, 2019 ICE Cable Systems plans to launch its Primal bulk wire series at ISE 2016 (stand 2-E40). The Primal line consists of the most popular types of cable: Cat 5, Cat 6, and 16-gauge and 14-gauge speaker cables. The cables come in a pull-box equipped with reinforced handles and a water resistant laminate similar to those found in the company’s Big Mouth Payout Box (BMP). To keep wire-pulls free of knots, kinks, and tangles, the Primal box (like BMP) uses REELEX coil and payout technology. “Primal offers many of the convenience features and safety aspects of the ICE line,” said Brian Rizzo, president of ICE Cable Systems. “In compliance with UL, ETL, and NEC standards, we’re using flame-tested jackets and full copper wire as opposed to non-certified compounds and copper-clad aluminum (CCA) so commonly found in entry-level offerings. The benefit here is offering product at this price-level while including REELEX technology and safety compliance.” The full line of Primal is now available. The category cables are available in 1,000 feet runs and in multiple color options. The speaker cable is available in runs of 500 and 1,000 feet (depending on gauge) in white. ICE Cable Systems has more than 50 active distributors around the world selling its products. Integrators can locate distributors in their area by calling ICE Cable at 310.444.1950 or visiting the ICE website.
