At CEDIA Expo 2024, Lutron has announced the launch of new lighting and shading products. In lighting, the company showed its new new RGB + Tunable White tape and a new 5-channel controller. In shading, Lutron has announced Natural Light Optimization (NLO) feature for roller shades, a recessed system for drapery tracks, and Palladiom bracket finish in Aged Bronze.
Lumaris Tape
Colorful lighting has taken social media by storm, and that’s just the beginning. In fact, many professionals say saturated RGB colors are one of the lighting features most requested by affluent millennial and Gen X clients. These requests have historically presented a challenge for installers and integrators — they have not had a simple, cost-effective way to control color-changing tape as part of a smart, whole-home system. Until now.
Lutron has introduced an expansion of the Lumaris tape light family that includes a new RGB + Tunable White tape and a new 5-channel controller that’s native to Lutron control systems.
Lumaris tape light solutions make it easy for pros to install and program vivid layers of light in popular tape applications like undercabinet, cove, vanity, and more. The enhanced solution includes both a new LED tape and controller, purpose-built for Lutron RadioRA 3 and HomeWorks QSX systems.

Lumaris RGB + Tunable White Tape Light
- 1800K – 4000K tunable white light range, with dimming down to 0.1%
- Saturated colors via RGB
- 90+ CRI, 200 lumens/ft
Lutron Multi-Channel Wireless Tape Controller
- Combination driver-controller, smaller than a smart phone and easy to tuck away
- Powered by Lutron’s Clear Connect Type X wireless technology
- Provides independent control of color (CCT/RGB) and intensity; and/or Warm Dim
- Adjustable color via preset scene control, automatic control based on time of day, or manual control using the Lutron App
- Walk-around programming and direct-to-device diagnostics
- Remotely mount devices with easy wiring terminals that accept 14-22AWG wire

Lutron also unveiled significant enhancements to its shading portfolio, including the introduction of the Natural Light Optimization (NLO) feature for roller shades, a recessed system for drapery tracks, and Palladiom bracket finish in Aged Bronze.
Roller Shade Automation with Natural Light Optimization
Lutron’s NLO for roller shades simplifies programming by automatically adjusting shades throughout the day and across seasons based on precise solar positioning. By leveraging a property’s latitude, longitude, and window orientation, NLO ensures optimal shade positions — Direct Sun, No Direct Sun, and Night Position — without complex setup. NLO is compatible with HomeWorks QSX and RadioRA 3 systems, and seamlessly integrated with Palladiom, Sivoia, and Triathlon roller shades.
Integrators benefit from four pre-programmed templates that streamline setup and customization, reducing project time and complexity. By using this new feature, professionals can customize rooms and windows, adjust offsets, and fine-tune settings to meet specific client preferences. NLO not only enhances comfort and protects furnishings from sun damage, but also reduces glare and optimizes views — all accessible at the touch of a button or through the Lutron app for daily adjustments and personalized comfort.
Recessed Drapery Systems
Lutron’s recessed drapery system provides smooth ceilings with drapery that appears to float in midair, creating a crisp, minimalist aesthetic that harmonizes seamlessly with any architectural design. The system’s components are designed for seamless integration in new construction, ensuring a refined and sophisticated finish.
Palladiom Shades with Aged Bronze Finish
The Palladiom Shade family first brought exposed roller shades to Lutron in 2017. A new addition to the line is Aged Bronze brackets, crafted from solid brass, ensuring refined and timeless aesthetic. This finish undergoes a multi-step process — precision-machined, hand-brushed, and carefully aged — to achieve a timeless look. Available for both wired and wire-free Palladiom shades, the Aged Bronze brackets and coordinating Architectural Bottom Bar end caps are designed to be seen and admired.
Lutron’s NLO for roller shades, recessed system for drapery track, and the Palladiom bracket Finish in Aged Bronze will be available in late 2024.
