Hunter Douglas has introduced two new installation solutions for a premium automated shade experience. PowerView+ is a new low-voltage, hardwired shading control system with new ultra-quiet motors and increased communication reliability for automated Hunter Douglas shades. PowerView AC is an AC-powered solution for large windows and/or banks of windows up to 240-inches wide. Both systems complement and expand on the current Hunter Douglas PowerView Automation platform to work with the portfolio of Hunter Douglas window treatment styles.
PowerView+ delivers advanced automated shade capabilities, featuring a new 16-Shade Smart Power Supply that provides hardwired power and communication to the shades. It connects via Ethernet to the home IP network and via a standard four-conductor control cable to the shades. The unique motor housing design of the PowerView+ system dampens vibrations to significantly reduce overall shade motor noise. PowerView+ is available on Designer Roller Shades, Designer Screen Shades, Pirouette Window Shadings, and Silhouette Window Shadings.
PowerView AC provides RF control of 120VAC-powered Designer Roller Shades and Designer Screen Shades. PowerView AC allows shade coupling, for side-by-side windows reaching up to 240-inches wide and up to five shades. Coupling provides one set of wiring for multiple windows, automation synchronization, and a larger surface area.
Both PowerView+ and PowerView AC utilize ultra-quiet motors, with the PowerView Hub continuing to serve as the central point of control of the shades and the interface to third-party control systems. PowerView+ and PowerView AC shades can be combined in a mixed environment along with standard PowerView wired or battery-operated shades for one seamless whole-home system. In all cases, dealers can offer customers control of their shades independently though the PowerView App and the Pebble Remote, or integrate PowerView with popular home automation and control systems, including Control4, Crestron, Savant, ELAN, URC, and others.
Size options have increased for many shade styles across all PowerView Automation systems, including custom sizes up to 156-inches wide x 180-inches high for Designer Screen Shades. Pricing is custom quoted based on style, fabric, color, and size options, as well as the PowerView Automation system.
“Smart home adoption is at an all-time high in new custom builds and renovation projects. The new PowerView solutions were engineered to bring a full portfolio of competitive shading solutions to the custom integration channel,” says Scott Stephenson, director of product management, motorization, Hunter Douglas. “With more than 20 unique shade styles with hundreds of color, fabric, and size options, most of which can be automated with PowerView, Hunter Douglas now offers the most expansive window treatment portfolio on the market. Smart shading appeals to customers when they don’t have to compromise style.”
