By RS Staff Published: January 22, 2016 ⋅ Updated: April 15, 2019 Naim Audio has begun shipping the Mu-so Qb, the newest wireless music system in the Mu-so family of products. “With Mu-so Qb, we use the same principles that helped form the original Mu-so: no compromise on materials, sound quality or features,” said Roy George, technical director, Naim Audio. Mu-so Qb uses tweeters with microfiber domes. Its mid-range drivers have rare earth magnets and copper-capped poles for greater accuracy. Unlike in the original Mu-so, there isn’t enough space for an expansive bass port. Instead, two pistonic bass radiators work alongside a custom-made woofer, driven by a 100-watt amplifier. The touchscreen interface on the top of Mu-so Qb is a solid aluminum ring, illuminated to float above the core structure. Mu-so Qb is equipped with Bluetooth (aptX) connectivity, a USB input for charging and playback of smartphones, tablets, and MP3 players. It also has a 3.5-millimeter analog input and a digital input for TVs, CD players, turntables, set-top boxes, and game consoles. Mu-so Qb can be used between five rooms in the home, creating a system that can be controlled by the dedicated Naim app for iOS and Android.
