Niles Audio will expand its powered subwoofer lineup with its first two mini subs, which are due this month.

Niles’ SW6.5 6.5-Inch Powered Compact Subwoofer.
The $499-suggested SW6.5 and $599 SW8 are cube-shaped models whose sides are, respectively, less than 10 inches and about 12 inches for discreet placement.
Both feature fingerprint-resistant piano-black finish, long-throw front-firing woofer with dual long-throw side-mounted passive radiators, automated turn-on via 12 volt trigger or audio signal sensing, and built-in CAT5 balun to enable audio delivery over CAT5 cable.
Both come with built-in bracket-mount for wall or ceiling mounting in light-commercial installations. Both also connect to an optional wireless receiver to eliminate a cable run to an audio source.
The SW6.5 features 6.5-inch active driver, two 6.5-inch passive radiators, and 200-watt RMS (800-watt peak) amplifier to deliver a frequency response of 42-200Hz.
The SW8 incorporates 300-watt RMS (1,200-watt peak) amp, an 8-inch active driver and two 8-inch passive radiators to deliver a frequency response of 36-200Hz.
