SunBriteTV has begun taking dealer preorders of its 84-inch outdoor 4K Ultra HD TV, pricing it at a suggested $24,995 and planning June shipments.
The SB-8418UHD is the company’s largest ever by screen size, its first 4K outdoor TV, and its first outdoor TV with HDMI 2.0 and HDCP 2.2. It’s also the company’s first TV with HDBaseT, which sends uncompressed HDMI video, including 4K Ultra HD video, plus multichannel audio up to 328 feet (100 meters) over inexpensive Cat5e or 6 cable instead of over expensive HDMI cables.
The company, which was acquired last October by SnapAV, said its model will be the brightest of any 84-inch 4K outdoor TV announced to date at 800 nits.
At least one other company, Seura, plans to offer an 84-inch outdoor 4K TV. In February, Seura announced suggested retail pricing of $19,499 and summer shipments of the 84-inch Storm Ultra Bright. The company’s website currently says June shipments are planned. Brightness is rated at 600 nits. The TV features HDMI 2.0 and HDCP 2.2 but not HDBaseT.
