Remote Technologies Incorporated (RTI) is now shipping its ESC-2 Ethernet-to-serial converter.
The ESC-2 allows installers to expand the capabilities of any RTI XP series control processor conveniently by adding two additional bidirectional serial ports over Ethernet.
The ESC-2 works seamlessly within RTI’s Integration Designer programming software for quick and simple setup, and multiple modules can be utilized for control of serial devices. Two RJ-45 jacks allow standard Cat 5 cabling to be used between the converter and the device being controlled. The ESC-2 is then connected to the local Ethernet network with a standard Cat 5 cable for full two-way control, as if the device were wired directly to the control processor.
“With the ESC-2, we’re giving installers the ability to cost-effectively utilize Ethernet networks to implement sophisticated control over the many devices spread throughout an installation,” said Pete Baker, vice president of sales and marketing for RTI. “The converter can also be discovered and configured by our Integration Designer software over Ethernet, making setup simple and efficient.”
The ESC-2 is available now at an MSRP of $149.00.
