Russound Updates MBX Series

Adds WebConfig dashboard, multiple-unit installation, and monitoring to the wireless streaming audio models.

Russound has announced a new firmware update for its MBX-Series of products. Specifically, with the addition of firmware version 1.02.04, the MBX-PRE Wi-Fi Streaming Zone Player and MBX-AMP Wi-Fi Streaming Zone Amplifier now benefit from an updated WebConfig installer configuration webpage that features an intuitive WiFi signal strength indicator, easy navigation from one connected Russound device to any other connected Russound device in the home, and additional benefits that are designed to simplify installation and remote management.

The new firmware upgrade gives installers a straightforward interface for verifying WiFi connections while guaranteeing a reliable connection at every installation.

Also included in firmware version 1.02.04 are several convenience features, one of which is instant access to WebConfig pages for every room in the system, making it easy to navigate by referencing a room’s name. This simplifies the installer’s job by reducing the overall system setup time when multiple Russound products are used in the same system.

Adding to the convenience of built-in, certified dual-band 802.11ac WiFi and mobile-friendly Bluetooth wireless connectivity, the Russound MBX-PRE and the MBX-AMP include native support of both Apple Airplay and Chromecast Built-in for Audio, allowing access to almost any music service in addition to the MBX-Series built-in support for TIDAL, Deezer, SiriusXM, SiriusXM for Business, TuneIn, vTuner, USB audio, and DLNA.
