Savant Introduces Micro Aperture Powered Architectural Speakers

Architectural speakers featuring Power over Ethernet (PoE) enable integrators to deliver high-performance content.

Savant has introduced the Micro Aperture architectural loudspeaker lineup, providing integrators with the capability to deliver content with single Ethernet cable connectivity. Each of Savant’s Power over Ethernet (PoE) self-powered Micro Aperture architectural speakers contain a highly efficient amplifier, which not only reduces installation time, it also delivers superb sound quality throughout any space because content remains in the digital domain from source to speaker, according to the company. There are three in-ceiling versions available, each using an advanced technology called Balanced Mode Radiator that delivers more sound per watt of amplifier power into the listening area.

The three Micro Aperture models are:

  • Self-powered PoE speaker
  • Companion PoE satellite speaker
  • Passive (4-ohm) speaker (for interface with traditional audio systems)

Each self-powered Savant Micro Aperture PoE speaker can run up to three passive satellite speakers, and will self-regulate the output power based upon the POE type of switch or injector that is being used. Because each unit is individually controlled and connected to the network, the user can switch room configurations. For example, the dining room speakers can play music during dinner, then become the rear (surround) channels for a theater system at the touch of a button

Savant Micro Aperture speakers are decor friendly — the speakers sit flush in the ceiling, are available with compact, paintable round or square 4-inch grilles, and complement the look of the Savant/USAI Lighting recessed fixture family. Savant’s exclusive INSTALL EZE tool-less installation system secures the speakers to the ceiling, and the provided trim makes these speakers ideal for both new construction and retrofit projects.

Savant Micro Aperture speakers are available now.
