SnapAV has announced the arrival of its Episode 900 series of in-wall loudspeakers, which incorporate premium high-efficiency 4.5-inch Kapton ribbon tweeters, large Natural Cell Structure (NCS) drivers, compensation EQ switches, and integrated sealed three-quarter-inch MDF back boxes.
The HT900 LCR
The first two available speakers are the dual seven-inch woofer equipped in-wall HT950 ($1,999 MSRP each) and the dual 6.5-inch woofer HT900 LCR ($1,199 MSRP each). The entire line, including the existing In-Room 900, is timber matched and capable of handling the power required for today’s high impact theaters.
The HT950 LCR weighs in at 41 lbs and measures nearly 40 inches high; the HT900 is a more modest 26 lbs and measures only 30 inches. For applications where the center channel is placed horizontally, the HT900’s tweeter can be rotated. Integrated is a switch to optimize the crossover network in accordance with the tweeter rotation.
According to SnapAV Marketing VP Adam Levy, since the company began rolling out its new Episode models in 2009, its speaker business has more than quadrupled. “Based on this and the enthusiastic dealer reactions to the new 900s, I believe Episode will continue as the fastest growing speaker brand in the CI channel,” says Levy.
