Somfy Systems is launching a suite of mobile apps that will allow users to access and control their TaHomA systems from a variety of mobile devices.

New mobile apps will allow users to access and control TaHomA systems from a variety of mobile devices.

TaHomA is Somfy’s total home automation system that enables users to control Somfy-powered motorized window coverings along with lights and thermostats. The TaHomA iPad app is currently available for download from the iTunes App Store for $29.99; an additional demo app for the iPad as well as an iPhone and iPod Touch app will be available early this year.

The iPad Demo app will allow users to explore and configure a virtual TaHomA system. This version of Somfy’s TaHomA app will allow users to simply select a Scene or device and watch how TaHomA automatically adjusts window coverings, lighting and temperature. The Demo app’s interface is the same as the one a homeowner would utilize in managing an actual TaHomA system.

Accessible directly from an iPad, iPhone and iPod Touch, the rest of the TaHomA app suite lets users take control of their home’s “energy triangle” on the go. The apps utilize graphics that allow users to easily make adjustments to the devices that make up their TaHomA system, such as Somfy-powered motorized shades, blinds, draperies, awnings, rolling shutters, and projection screens; lights; and thermostats.

With the iPad app, users will be able to make adjustments to their home’s lighting, thermostat and Somfy-powered motorized products as well as create new Scenes and Schedules. The TaHomA iPad app is divided into three sections which are easily accessible via menu bar across the bottom of the screen: LiveView Dashboard, Scene Configurator, and Schedule Configurator. This app gives users complete control of their TaHomA system by offering the same robust functionality as the existing web-based TaHomA interface.

Somfy’s TaHomA iPhone and iPod Touch app gives users quick access to all the devices and existing Scenes in their TaHomA system. Users can also create new Schedules to automatically activate Scenes according to time of day, day of the week, range of dates, or sunrise and sunset times.
