Sony Releases Firmware Update to HT-ST5000 Sound Bar

Firmware update will enable the HT-ST5000 Sound Bar to support Dolby, DTS:X, DTS-HD Master Audio, DTS Digital Surround, and Dolby Vision Compatible

Sony has released a firmware update to its HT-ST5000 7.1.2ch 800W Dolby Atmos Sound Bar to support DTS’ latest immersive audio format. The firmware update also includes support for DTS HDMA and legacy DTS.

With the firmware update, the flagship HT-ST5000 Sound Bar continues to improve the process for maintaining quality from source to screen with the latest 4K HDR support, plus HDCP 2.21. Users can enjoy Hi-Res Audio and a whole-home solution with Google Home compatibility and multi-room listening.

With built-in Chromecast, users can cast music, podcasts, and radio from 100-plus audio apps, including Google Play Music, and more from a smartphone, tablet, or laptop to audio device.

The HT-ST5000 is priced at $1,499.99 MSRP.
