"KNX is the de facto standard control platform in Europe and is rapidly spreading throughout Asia and other parts of the world,” said Cat Toomey, director of marketing, URC. “URC is pleased to announce a new two-way control module compatible with that standard.”

KNX is a standardized (EN 50090, ISO/IEC 14543), OSI-based network communications protocol for intelligent buildings. The KNX standard is administered by the KNX Association. KNX is approved as a European (CENELEC EN 50090 and CEN EN 13321-1) and an International standard (ISO/IEC 14543-3).

The KNX Association describes KNX as "the worldwide standard for all applications in home and building control, ranging from lighting and shutter control to various security systems, heating, ventilation, air conditioning, monitoring, alarming, water control, energy management, and smart metering, as well as household appliances, audio/video, and lots more."
