URC Two-Way Module Earns Sonos Certification It Allows for Simple and Reliable Sonos Control as Part of a Fully Integrated Total Control 2.0 System By RS Staff Published: March 26, 2018 ⋅ Updated: April 15, 2019 This week, URC is releasing a new URC-certified Sonos two-way module for Total Control 2.0. It will carry the “Works with Sonos” badge, attesting to the quality of the certified integration. This new module allows for simple and reliable Sonos control as part of a fully integrated Total Control 2.0 system. Features include volume control, grouping of Sonos players, access to Sonos favorites and advanced automation. The module utilizes a new method of integration that expedites the programming process for URC dealers. “Sonos users will be presented with a simple and elegant onscreen design that puts their music front and center, delivering intuitive control from their URC touchscreen or remote,” said Lars Granoe, URC vice president product development. “Additionally, advanced home automation features offer an even more robust smart home experience for Sonos users.” “URC is a great option for Sonos customers who want to automate their home and have Sonos be a core component of that, and they’ve been great to work with,” said Andrew Vloyanetes, director, installed solutions, Sonos. “We want to make it is as easy as possible for people to listen to music and all of the sonic content that the internet has to offer in every room of the home—and it should sound incredible. URC is helping us do just that with their new certified integration.” Previously, URC owners who wanted Sonos had to rely on an integration that was at times unstable, but now, this new integration ensures that the Sonos integration will not only work reliably, but will also get better over time. In October of 2017, Sonos rolled out a certification program that, for the first time, offered the ability for integration partners to earn the “Works with Sonos” badge. The badge gives Sonos owners assurance that companies building and innovating on its platform deliver experiences that meet the Sonos high bar for quality. The Sonos TCM and integration guide will be available to authorized Total Control 2.0 dealers on the URC dealer portal on Tuesday, March 27, 2018.
