BenQ has announced the AK900ST and AK800ST, its newest projectors purpose-built for golf simulation. The new projectors combine true 4K UHD resolution, advanced color processing, and automated setup tools to deliver a more realistic round of indoor golf.

By combining up to 6,000 ANSI lumens with true 4K UHD resolution and 97% Rec. 709 color coverage, the AK900ST and AK800ST can reproduce the subtle details and color variations that make courses feel more natural and inviting. BenQ’s Golf Mode 2.0 uses frame-based AI video processing to optimize color, contrast, and detail specifically for golf simulation, helping courses look closer to how golfers expect to see them in the real world. This results in more natural course textures, reflections, sun-lighting and shadows while still being able to reproduce the subtle differences in the surrounding foliage.
Unlike fast-moving movie scenes where it can be easy to miss miniscule pixel-level detail, much of the imagery in golf simulators is static, and imperfections are much easier to detect. On a large impact screen, 4K resolution helps keep course details sharp, clear, and true-to-life. With four times the pixel count of 1080p, the AK900ST and AK800ST deliver greater clarity across the entire course.
As golf simulator screens get larger and curved installations become more popular, getting the projected image properly aligned can be one of the most challenging parts of setup. The AK900ST and AK800ST simplify installation with automated setup tools, including:
- Auto Screen Fit 2.0 uses the projector’s built-in camera and sensors to detect the size and shape of the screen and automatically adjust image geometry for curved or flat impact screens.
- Auto Focus sharpens the projected image with a single tap on the remote, eliminating the need for manual adjustment.
- Ambient Visual Enhancer detects changing room conditions and automatically fine-tunes the image for a clear, balanced picture.
- New Screen Fill Aspect Ratios, including 5:4 and 3:2, let users quickly select the aspect ratio that best fits their simulator screen, alongside common golf simulator formats such as 1:1 and 4:3.
For many owners, a golf simulator is also one of the largest screens in the house with two-thirds of golf simulator owners using their space for movies, sports, or gaming. The AK900ST and AK800ST are designed to make switching between these experiences easier with features including:
- Scene Memory lets users save customized settings for golf, movies, gaming, and sports.
- 97% Rec. 709 w/ HDR10 image support and Cinematic Mode with native 24p film playback deliver full movie-theater depth and picture quality.
- Automatic Low Latency Mode enables high refresh rates and low lag time when connected to a gaming console.
The AK900ST and AK800ST will be available for purchase later this month for $5999 and $3999, respectively, at BenQ.com and through authorized BenQ resellers.
