LG Electronics USA in collaboration with Lucasfilm has unveiled a special Star Wars edition of its LG OLED evo 65-inch C2 model. The Star Wars LG OLED evo, limited to 501 TV units in the U.S., will feature a Star Wars inspired UI, aesthetics, packaging, and gallery of Star Wars content. The TV will be available via LG.com with specific availability announced at a later date.
The Star Wars special edition LG OLED evo will be on display at LG’s exhibit at Star Wars Celebration, May 26-29 at the Anaheim Convention Center.
The Star Wars LG OLED evo TV features a Star Wars-themed cosmetic design with a special edition Star Wars-branded version of LG’s Remote, an exclusive gallery of Star Wars content, and other features delivered in a Star Wars-branded packaging featuring Darth Vader. The remote-control user interface will mimic the look of the iconic Star Wars lightsaber, and sound of Darth Vader’s breathing when turning the TV on. Each TV box will include a numbered certificate of authenticity.
LG’s Gallery Mode, a feature that turns your TV into a canvas by displaying paintings and other artwork, will surprise fans with two new different categories of Star Wars art: The Conceptual Designs and the Journey of Darth Vader. The art under The Conceptual Designs category will feature original storyboard and illustrated images to show how Star Wars came to life. The Journey of Darth Vader will showcase content such as movie posters and major movie scenes.
