TCL has announced a premium addition to this year’s QD-Mini LED TV lineup — the QM9K series, TCL’s newest model joins the QM8K to create the company’s “Ultimate Series.” Maximizing its Halo Control System, the QM9K delivers high picture quality with more dimming zones and higher peak brightness than TCL has ever achieved before. In addition, the QM9K series will be the industry’s first Google TV devices to come with Gemini.
Building on the QM8K’s performance, QM9K series delivers HDR6500 for up to 30% higher peak brightness and LD6000 for up to 57% more precise dimming zones to ensure Ultimate Black. The new QM9K also sets itself apart by being the first Google TV with Gemini and Ambient Display. Google TV’s Ambient Display enables the TV to wake to someone’s presence, show screensavers, and answer questions at the sound of their voice with the help of Gemini. The QM9K leverages a Presence Sensor (mmWave), far-field microphones, and Gemini voice assistant, so consumers can enjoy stunning artwork and get help on the largest screen in their home – all hands-free.
TCL’s new Ultimate Series includes the QM8K (The Ultimate Choice) and the QM9K (The Ultimate Performance), both featuring four Ultimate Technology Advantages — the CrystGlow WHVA Panel for an ultrawide color viewing angle, unique ZerorBorder “edge-to-edge” panel with virtually no black matrix border, ultimate dimming zone, and peak brightness levels of the Halo Control System, and Gemini.
The TCL Halo Control System includes Micro OD, reducing the optical distance between the backlight and diffuser plate to help virtually eliminate image blooming. In addition, the enhanced Color Optimization Algorithm with new, more vibrant Quantum Crystals provides enhanced color accuracy, while the 23-bit Backlight Controller precisely controls over 65,000 levels of brightness for each LED to enhance gray scale accuracy.
Topping TCL’s QD-Mini LED lineup, the Ultimate Series offers advanced voice assistance. Gemini is able to understand conversational queries and follow-up questions based on the context, making interactions with this upgraded voice assistant more natural than ever before.
The new TCL QM9K series will be available later this month at Best Buy and select regional retailers in sizes ranging from 65 to 98 inches.
