Tech Showcase — The Latest Projectors

Today’s models offer options for those looking for the big-screen experience, projection on the go, and gaming.

When dedicated home theaters came back in fashion, so did these video projectors — but they can do so much more these days thanks to creative manufacturers. Dealers have plenty of options to choose from that will help them to re-create the big-screen experience at home, let clients take their content on the go, or provide an immersive gaming experience. Here are some of the latest additions to the projector market.

Sony VPL-XW6000ES Projector

Sony VPL-XW6000ES

The Sony VPL-XW6000ES offers a bold, crisp entertainment experience with 2500 lm of brightness, generated by a long-lasting laser light source, for vibrant images even on a large screen. Available in either black or white, this model also features all-new 0.61-inch SXRD panel for high brightness, inky blacks, vibrant colors, rich tones and textures, clear cinematic motion, and image smoothness. Utilizing Flagship-level X1 Ultimate for projector brings the best of Sony’s BRAVIA TV video processing for projection, resulting in high dynamic range imagery with texture, color, contrast, and realism.

The VPL-XW6000ES offers 3840 x 2160 4K resolution images with 8.3 million pixels. Within the new Native 4K SXRD panel, a reflective silicon layer provides better light control for precisely delivered shadows and blacks and improves light durability and reflectance. Due to the processing power of the X1 Ultimate for projector, the contrast in combination with the new laser output control on both models is further enhanced, making the HDR bright scenes brighter and the dark scenes darker.

Xgimi Mogo 2 Projector Series

Xgimi Mogo 2 Projector Series

Xgimi’s MoGo 2 Series consists of the MoGo 2 Pro and MoGo 2 projectors. The new MoGo 2 Series is aimed at busy urban professionals and young families, and offers significant improvements in screen brightness, screen clarity, and speaker performance, as well as the new Intelligent Screen Adaption 2.0 (in the MoGo 2 Pro), which allows for a complete hassle-free setup process for first-time projector users.

The MoGo 2 Series is equipped with XGIMI’s self-developed light engine, which uses advanced technologies, such as high-transmission coated lenses to reduce light loss in the projection light path, ultimately providing a brightness output of up to 400 ISO lumens. With a resolution of 1080p (MoGo 2 Pro) and 720p (MoGo 2), they create sharp images.

The color performance of the MoGo 2 Series has been greatly improved, with a color gamut coverage of up to 90 percent of the DCI-P3 color gamut standard range. The D65 color temperature standard newly deployed in the MoGo 2 Series is widely used in Hollywood as a color temperature standard. This standard restores the color details that movies and original video content should have, allowing users to enjoy a more realistic visual experience.

SPACE by CODA

SPACE by CODA

SPACE by CODA combines advanced AV technology with art to create a seamless audio-visual experience that is scalable and adaptable to any environment — and where the mechanics of what is a concert-grade audio experience are rendered completely invisible.

SPACE by CODA integrates high-end, immersive 3D audio, a 4K projector screen, ambient lighting, and advanced acoustical treatment with the art or projection of your choice into a united system solution to transform spaces with audio. The result is the SPACE Panel.

At just 70mm deep, SPACE Panels can offer sound quality and performance surpassing that of conventionally designed (cabinet) loudspeakers, according to the manufacturer. This driver-equipped canvas can transform spaces to feature invisible audio, enabling high-quality, full-range sound in previously limitative environments. The entire sonic spectrum is covered with power and quality; unique “instafit” magnetic waveguides native to the SPACE audio modules facilitate production of directable sound with capability for immersive audio — all from within the panel.

Sound diffusors and acoustic treatments may be interleaved between loudspeaker modules for better control over sound reverberation in the room. Optional sensor-controlled sub-bass modules can be deployed to deliver even lower frequencies to concert sound proportions. Matching CODA LINUS DSP amplifiers complete the package. The addition of the SPACE Hub processor opens up the possibility for true 3D immersive audio.
