WyreStorm, a manufacturer of 4K UHD and HD signal management and control solutions for Pro AV and custom install, has added to its senior management team with the hiring of Mark Shaughnessy as national ProAV sales director, Vincent Philippo as director of international sales, and David Silberstein as director of product development.
New director of technology, David Silberstein, has a strong telecommunications and product management background, having served almost two decades at Crestron, where he held the position director of sales information.

Entrenched in the industry having attended the InfoComm show for the past 27 years, during his tenure at Crestron, his many achievements include the creation of the Crestron Technical Institute (CTI), yet within the industry he was also chairman of the Manufacturers Council for AVIXA and served on the Professional Education and Training Committee, helping to create CTS-I, CTS-N (networking) the basics of Audio Visual book, the BISCI audio visual standard, and led the creation of the Dashboard for Controls and the update on its 15-year anniversary.
In his new role, Silberstein has wide-reaching responsibilities spanning all WyreStorm product development across each of the company’s HDMI, HDBaseT, fiber, and AV over IP product lines, technical support and product documentation.

Vincent Philippo, who now serves as vice president of international sales, has amassed more than 18 years experience in the audio visual and services industry. He joins WyreStorm as VP of international sales, following 14 years at Crestron, where he was regional director for the Middle East and Africa.
Philippo’s tenure at Crestron saw him start the company for the MEA region in 2003, including establishing warehousing, logistics, and service center for the company, and developing business with an average growth of 20 percent per year. He grew and managed a customer database from 30 to more than 200 dealers in MEA, managing a team of 25 staff in commercial, technical, HR, and admin divisions, and participated in quarterly EMEA leadership meetings that actively contributed to the continued industry growth of the region.
After overseeing the relocation to larger offices in 2006, 2009, and again in 2014 due to exponential business growth, Philippo also established new Crestron offices in the Netherlands in 2012 and South Africa in 2014.
Philippo’s role as VP of international sales will see him leverage his experience and ability to lead WyreStorm’s global sales outside the U.S., with him located in the Netherlands for all WyreStorm sales managers and distribution partners across Europe, Asia, and APAC regions.
Mark Shaughnessy, WyreStorm’s new national sales manager, Pro AV, comes to the company from a varied background that includes vice president of operations for a major Hollywood studio and a 30-year member of the Screen Actors Guild, not to mention being an All-America swimmer, and a USA/ABF and NCBC Collegiate champion boxer.
As part of the AV industry for close to 20 years, Shaughnessy was awarded CEDIA Rep of the Year in 2000 and has held a number of sales, marketing, general management, and VP positions for Audio Warehouse, RGB Spectrum, and Alexander Marketing Group.
At Crestron, Shaughnessy held a variety of managerial positions, including consultant liaison, manager of residential for the Southeast and Mid-Atlantic regions, business development manager for the Southeast and Mid-Atlantic, and interim executive director of the Southeast.
As WyreStorm national sales manager for Pro AV, Shaughnessy is responsible for identifying and developing existing and new opportunities for WyreStorm product lines over HDMI, HDBaseT, and NetworkHD AV over IP. Working closely with senior management, and the national sales team Shaughnessy’s mission is to leverage WyreStorm’s regional sales reps, consultants, dealers, and end users to help grow awareness, educate, and expand WyreStorm business within the Pro AV sector.
