At a suggested $249, the YAS-105 also marks the company’s return to a $249 price point for an active soundbar, joining two models at $299.
The YAS-105 is also Yamaha’s first soundbar with what the company called a flexible-orientation design, enabling the 2 1/8 by 35 by 5 1/8-inch bar to be laid flat in front of a TV or flat on the wall beneath the TV. When placed in front of a TV, the unit is 2 1/8-inch-high from the front, but that surface faces down when placed on the wall, so the bar protrudes from the wall by only that amount, the company explained.
