Russound to Preview MBX-AMP WiFi Streaming Audio System Amp at CEDIA 2017

Wireless Amp Brings High-Performance Audio to Up to 32 Zones August 7, 2017
Why This Matters

The MBX-AMP is a single-box solution for residential installations, while access to SiriusXM for Business makes it a reliable choice for light commercial projects.

Russound will include a new WiFi streaming audio system amplifier in its product previews at the upcoming CEDIA show: the MBX-AMP.

The MBX-AMP is a single-box solution for residential installations, while access to SiriusXM for Business makes it a reliable choice for light commercial projects. Russound designed the MBX-AMP to be a decentralized, amplified streaming solution.

Full control of the MBX-AMP is managed through the MyRussound App as well as Russound’s XTS or XTSPlus touchscreens.

The MBX-AMP offers 50 watts per channel at 8 ohms, and is scalable for up to 32 rooms, with synchronized audio for up to 16 rooms. In addition to built-in Wi-Fi and Bluetooth, it features voice control integration, and there will be driver support for Control4, URC and RTI controls.

Aside from streaming audio, the MBX-AMP will also stream from DLNA-compliant audio sources, and will support Apple AirPlay. Additionally, it will feature Bluetooth with full AVRCP support, including metadata and album art from supported sources.

The MBX-AMP is included in the Russound Certified Installer (RCI) Program. “RCI Required” models boast a feature designed to drastically reduce unauthorized online sales of the company’s products while ensuring that consumers receive the benefits of working with certified installation professionals.

“The MBX-AMP illustrates how we listen to our dealers before getting to work on a new product,” said Charlie Porritt, CEO, Russound. “When it came time to design a world class streaming audio system amp, we consulted with our customers to determine what features were critical, and what would be helpful when it comes to simplifying installation, configuration, and, of course, operation. The result is a product that answers the demands of our customers, with features and performance that go beyond anything else at this price point.”
