NJ Integrator to Host Showroom Event

Allendale, NJ — As a sign of optimism in the midst of an economic downturn, custom AV specialist, Talk of the Town, is hosting a grand re-opening of its newly designed showroom at 319 Franklin Turnpike in Allendale, New Jersy, Tuesday, May 5, 2009, from 10 a.m. until 7 p.m.

The new opening is timely given current trends among homeowners. As the economy continues to struggle, more families are taking advantage of the opportunity to enjoy entertainment at home as opposed to going out to the movies and other venues, or taking vacations. By doing so, families not only are saving money, but they’re also spending more quality time together. As a result, installations of home theaters and dedicated media rooms are on the rise.

“Elegant dinners and lavish vacations are wonderful,” said Robert Dodge, director of operations for Talk of the Town, “but investing in entertainment and automated conveniences you can enjoy everyday at home is quickly becoming the wiser choice for many people.”

Talk of the Town’s new showroom is designed to show families first-hand the wide variety of home entertainment possibilities that are available to them. Its three dedicated home theater spaces feature unique sound systems, distinctive interior design elements and a variety of video sources, including LCD, plasma flat panels and large-screen projection options. Unlike many similar showrooms, however, the focus is not entirely on home theater and media rooms; the rest of the house is represented as well. Dedicated areas of the showroom include a lifestyle/family room, a custom-designed kitchen space, outdoor deck and garden scenes, and even a sports room with a bar, all completely integrated with sophisticated yet easy-to-use A/V and control technologies.

“We are particularly proud of what we have accomplished,” Dodge said. “To be able to build seven state-of-the-art product showcases during this difficult time is a testament to our company’s strength, the quality of our personnel, and the commitment of our many vendor partners.”

The showroom isn’t just available to homeowners. Interior designers, architects, and custom home builders will find the showroom valuable for envisioning the competitive and environmental advantages of incorporating whole-house AV solutions in their projects. The visceral experience of pressing a single button on a personalized touchpanel and seeing the shades lower, the drapes close, the lights dim, and all electronics systems turn on and begin to play illustrates the ability of today’s technology to transform a home for the better.

Electronics are usually considered for their entertainment qualities, but with today’s technology, they can also help homeowners monitor their energy usage.”We can automate climate, lighting and shade/drape control to minimize unnecessary energy usage, even when you’re not home and forgot to turn something on or off before you left,” said Robert Seaman, project manager for Talk of the Town. “We can automatically have a group of shades close when the hot sun is beating on your house during the summer, or open automatically in the winter to help warm your home.”

The Allendale facility joins Talk of the Town’s other showroom in Hoboken, New Jersy, which was completely renovated last year.
