Utah Technology Council presents the award.

Salt Lake City, UT–Control4 founder and CEO Will West has been named the Utah CEO of the Year by the Utah Technology Council (UTC) at this year’s Annual Member’s Meeting held at Salt Lake Community College.

Located in Salt Lake City, Control4 was founded by Will West, Eric Smith,
and Mark Morgan in 2003 and has grown rapidly as the leader in affordable
IP-based home control and entertainment systems. Today the company employs 180 people in Utah, including 70 highly skilled hardware and software engineers.

“UTCs Board and members are pleased to recognize Will West’s legendary leadership and success in creating such an innovative technology company in Utah,” said Richard R. Nelson, president and CEO of the Utah Technology Council and of Technology Councils of North America (TECNA). “Will’s entrepreneurship has benefited Utah over the years with Control4 being his fourth IT company. Under Mr. West’s leadership as CEO, Control4 has become the first company to make whole-home automation a practical option for any residence.”

Upon receiving the award, Will said that he appreciates the “vital role” that the UTC plays in connecting the IT leaders of Utah. “The UTC enables management growth and facilitates executive peer networking, along with representing the voice of the IT industry in the state and federal political process. Any credit for this award goes to the entire Control4 team that is truly delivering the digital home to a much broader market than ever before,” West said.
