The production company that created product launch videos for Proficient’s Signature Series and MaxTV products recently received industry awards for its work.
The Telly Awards, which honors outstanding local, regional, and cable TV commercials and programs, the finest video and film productions, and online commercials, video, and films has named Del Padre Digital as a winner of two Bronze Telly Awards for its two Proficient product videos. These videos were in competition with over 11,000 entries from the United States.
The first video “Proficient Signature Series” is an online promotional feature to introduce Proficient Audio’s new flagship Signature Series loudspeaker and subwoofer. The video was shot on a RED Epic and conveys the performance and features of the seven-layer, high-gloss black finish on the products. The video can be viewed here.
The second award was a product launch video for Proficient’s MaxTV, a slim-line, under-TV loudspeaker system featuring hi-fidelity sound and Bluetooth capability. The video was created to demonstrate the dramatic differences between TV sound and the MaxTV.
Director Nino Del Padre achieved these goals using a combination of live action, stock footage, and sound design.
“The challenge was to illustrate the sound from the sub-standard TV speaker system compared to the home theater quality sound coming from the MaxTV,” he said. “I ended up using hyper-real sound for the images shown on the TV when the MaxTV is turned on. Working with thousands of sound effects to pair with the TV content was a huge task.”
“We blended dozens of different sounds for each shot such as sounds of a jet engine and an explosion for a gulf swing, bullet ricochets for rain drops hitting a flower and cracking ice for a time-lapse shot of a plant growing,” Del Padre added.
