Structured Cable Products has expanded its offering of Crestron capable cables to include the new Crest-8G, a high performance cable for data networking and high definitional AV signal distribution applications.

“Our new Crest-8G cables provide integrators with a solution for today’s high performance, high speed systems,” said David Spiller, president of Structured Cable Products. “Now integrators can effectively and efficiently transmit HD video and audio signals and more throughout a system utilizing the latest technologies with a single, thin cable, saving them a tremendous amount of installation time.”

The Crest-8G cable supports 1080p HD video with deep color and 1920 x 1200 WUXGA computer signals, plus HD 7.1 multichannel audio and Ethernet control signals up to 330 feet—all in a single wire and without the use of repeaters.

The Crest-8G delivers optimum performance for use in data networking, certified up to 350 MHz, and high-definition AV signal distribution applications, significantly exceeding the Cat-5e specifications for bandwidth, crosstalk and interface rejection.

High resolution digital signals are transmitted over unshielded Cat-5e (UTP), with minimal errors, while maintaining signal integrity without compression. This makes it easy to upgrade existing QM, PVID and other analog distribution systems. SCP’s Crest-8G cables are constructed in a round, flexible PVC jacket for easy pulling and stripping. The cables also feature sequential foot markings to eliminate waste.
