United States Secretary of Commerce Penny Pritzker will speak at the 2014 International CES SuperSession “Innovation: Keeping America Open for Business.”

Owned and produced by the Consumer Electronics Association (CEA), the 2014 International CES will run January 7-10, 2014, in Las Vegas, NV.

Secretary Pritzker will join CEA President and CEO Gary Shapiro for a one-on-one conversation addressing the Commerce Department’s efforts to spur economic growth. The session will take place at 11:30 a.m., on Wednesday, January 8, at the Las Vegas Convention Center (LVCC), North Hall, N255-257.

“I am excited to welcome Secretary Pritzker to the International CES,” Shapiro said. “The Commerce Department plays an important role in driving the growth of our nation’s innovation infrastructure – from promoting trade expansion and domestic manufacturing, to increasing access to a highly-trained workforce.

“I look forward to an insightful one-on-one discussion with the Secretary at CES to gain her insights into these and other critical issues facing the consumer technology industry and showing her some of the more than 3,200 companies that are exhibiting at CES including the 200 startup companies in Eureka Park.”

CES is a proud participant of the Department of Commerce’s International Buyer Program (IBP). Through the U.S. Commercial Service’s network of offices in U.S. embassies and consulates worldwide, the IBP recruits pre-screened foreign buyer delegations and brings them to the International CES to connect U.S. companies with international buyers.

The CES SuperSessions are part of the 2014 CES conference program, featuring keynote addresses from leaders of Audi, Cisco, Intel, Sony and Yahoo! The 2014 program also includes a robust lineup of conference tracks, sessions and speakers exploring innovations and trends in the tech industry. View the full CES conference program at CESweb.org.
