Starke Sound Debuts HALO Series Speakers and Subs

Series features newly developed transducers, crossovers, and enclosure components designed specifically for the new products.

Starke Sound has announced the availability of the HALO series of high-end home audio loudspeakers. The HALO Series features newly developed transducers, crossovers, and enclosure components designed specifically for the new products. The new models, all of which are two-way, include the M1 bookshelf speaker, C2 center, and W1 slimline on-wall model. All of the new HALO speakers feature Starke Sound’s Rogrid Aluminum Frame and reinforced cabinet, designed to ensure rugged structural stability and acoustic precision over a lifetime of listening.

In addition, the series features two subwoofers: SUB1, a 12.5-inch sub with 1 kW RMS, and SUB5, Starke Sound’s new benchmark sub, featuring a 17-inch driver with 3 kW RMS. Rounding out the HALO Series are two third-generation A+AB solid state power amplifiers: A3 (3-channel) and A2 (2-channel), each with 620 RMS watts per channel into 4 ohms.

As speakers that are meant to be seen as well as heard, HALO models are finished in TrueChrome piano lacquer, with 14 layers of paint and a mirror-finish polish to complete the picture. The new HALO speakers and the SUB1 are available in in Samurai Black, Lunar White, and Ember Noir. The SUB5 is available in Samurai Black only.

The heart of the HALO Series is the M1 bookshelf speaker ($4200/pair), blending advanced materials with precise engineering. A Diamaze28 Be tweeter delivers refined highs, and the MaxCarbon65 woofer provides rich, expansive bass. Integrated via a premium first-order crossover, these drivers ensure low distortion, perfect phase coherence, and an immersive soundstage that captures the emotional essence of well-recorded music.

Similar to the M1 speaker, the C2 center channel ($3150) features a Diamaze28 Be tweeter, here combined with dual MaxCarbon65 mid-bass divers to infuse sound with power while maintaining harmonious balance.

Designed as both a surround and standalone speaker in rooms where on-wall speakers are the best option for optimal sound, the HALO Series’ W1 on-wall speaker ($1950/pair) combines elegant design with outstanding sonics.

The two companion subwoofers deliver deep bass with speed and authority. SUB 1 ($2499), a compact powerhouse of a mid-sized subwoofer, features a robust 12.5-inch driver and 1000W RMS of clean, controlled power to fill a space with bass that is both deep and precise.

For rooms that need extra support on the bottom end, the SUB 5 ($4999) includes a 17-inch driver, Umbraxis Diaphragm Support Structure, and 120mm excursion, delivering bass that plunges as low as 8 Hz. Powered by up to 3000 watts RMS, it produces ultra-deep, dynamic, distortion-free low frequencies for an experience that fills the largest rooms with masterful low end sonics.

Ideal for powering HALO Series main speakers are two new amplifiers: the 2-channel A2 and 3-channel A3. ($6000 and $6900, respectively.) Both models feature Starke Sound’s third-generation Class A+AB amplifier design, offering up to 620 watts per channel at 4 ohms, a fully balanced topology, and a power supply capacitor array of up to 176,000 microfarads.

Their high-bias design enables Class A operation for nearly all music and audio signals under typical conditions. When extremely large signals occur — often less than 1% of the time — the A2 and A3 enter Class AB mode seamlessly, ensuring that the system’s dynamic range remains uncompromised. In essence, this is a pure Class A amplifier equipped with exceptional power reserves.

Developed for the new HALO Series M1 speaker, the Stand 3S, in black or silver, provides a three-point, integrated foundation via aircraft-grade aluminum that enhances the monitors’ performance and presentation. The speaker is mechanically coupled to the base of the stand, extending the benefits of Starke Sound’s Rogrid structure into the floor.
