Legrand Adds Nuvo Driver for URC Legrand has introduced a software driver for integrating the Nuvo Player Portfolio with system controllers from URC.RS Staff ⋅ Aug 22, 2016 Legrand has introduced a software driver for integrating the Nuvo Player Portfolio with system controllers from URC. Available free of charge via the Legrand website, and requiring no firmware update to other components, the driver enables a wide range of URC controllers as well as URC apps for iOS and Android smartphones and tablets to control many of the Player Portfolio system’s functions. The new driver, which is implemented during the URC system setup, provides access to all Nuvo Player Portfolio services and content via real-time two-way communication between URC controllers and the Nuvo Player Portfolio. In addition to basic play, pause, and volume control functions, the driver enables users to select and browse sources and content, group zones, and access service-specific transport controls (such as rating tracks for Pandora), as well as configure their favorite sources and features for easy access via keypads or custom buttons. “URC is a well established, widely used brand of home control systems, and this new driver further reiterates our position to make whole home audio products purposefully designed for the professional integrator,” said Fritz Werder, VP/GM for the company’s Nuvo and On-Q product lines. “Our customers appreciate the time savings of being able to use the driver to access the comprehensive control and custom programming options that make all channels and content instantly available via the URC controller or app.” The new driver features integrator-friendly convenience features, including a “settings” page that configures account properties for easy access to data such as usernames and passwords, which will enable them to administer service updates without bothering the customer. The driver is compatible with all Nuvo Player Portfolio models and is designed for use with URC controller models TRC820, TRC1080, TRC1280, TKP2000, TKP5500, and TKP7000, as well as URC apps for iOS and Android smartphones and tablets.
