CES 2025: Tech Trends to Watch

Insights on some of the key technology trends that will be revealed on the CES 2025 exhibit floor and conference program.

Kicking off the CES 2025 Media Day, as always, was the “Tech Trends to Watch” session, which was held Sunday evening to give members of the press insights as to some of the key technology trends that will be revealed on the exhibit floor and conference program. The session was hosted by CTA’s VP marketing & communications Melissa Harrison and senior director, innovation & trends, Brian Comiskey.

The pair began their presentation by releasing some of the most recent CTA data, including research on the buying and shopping habits of Gen Z. The research shows that 60% of Gen Z are early adopters of tech, “which means they are comfortable with faster replacement cycles and take pride in only the latest technologies,” said Comiskey.

CTA also revealed that they are forecasting the U.S. tech market to reach $537 billion in 2025, although the association will be monitoring throughout the year to gauge the impact of possible tariffs and other factors on the market.

Harrison and Comiskey then shared some of the key technologies to keep an eye out for during CES 2025, starting with AI, which will play a part in many of the products offered. They mentioned the frontiers of AI, including AI agents, digital twins, and humanoid robots — all well-represented at the show.

Other areas to watch include:

  • Human security, which covers the human rights such as environmental protection and food security
  • Mobility, including electrification, connectivity, autonomy, and industrials
  • Smart home comfort, including TVs as command centers, health integration, energy management, and AI personalization

The presentation ended with an insight into the current trend for technology, which is human-centric, and a look toward tomorrow, which the pair believes will involve quantum computing, which is also represented at CES 2025.
