Annual UST and Projector Shootout Events to Take Place December 10 and 11

Industry experts will test, compare, and evaluate premium ultra-short-throw and long-throw projectors.

Value Electronics, an independent audio/video retailer in Westchester County, N.Y., is hosting its annual UST Projector Shootout Evaluation event at 9:00 AM ET on Saturday, December 10, 2022, and Long Throw Projector Shootout Evaluation Event at 9:00 AM ET on Sunday, December 11, 2022, at The Company Building in New York City. This year, Value Electronics partnered again with Dealerscope.

UST and Long-Throw Projector Shootout

The Projector Shootout evaluation events will be webcast live on www.YouTube.com/@therealshanelee. Questions and comments will be moderated by YouTube channel owners with select questions read to the presenters. There will not be in-person attendees this year amid an abundance of concern for Covid and the variants.

Masters of Ceremonies for the 2022 event is industry expert Philip Jones of Projector Reviews. Jones owns ProjectorReviews.com with his wife, where he brings his extensive expertise and passion for home theater as technical editor and lead reviewer. Jason Dustal, engineer with Murideo and ISF Instructor, will be leading the calibration team and operations during the Projector Shootouts.

A panel of professional Hollywood video colorists, film finishers, TV reviewers, and video experts has been assembled to judge, evaluate, and vote on all picture quality attributes to determine which projector will be awarded this year’s “King of UST Projectors,” and “King of Long Throw Projectors.” Test patterns and real content will demonstrate elements of picture quality, including contrast, color fidelity, color saturation, and motion resolution.

The event’s creator, Robert Zohn, president of Value Electronics, says, “This is a must-see event for all who are interested in the premium UST and long throw projection systems. We are excited to have these two comparison events so the public can see how each projector compares.”

The objective of the Projector Shootout events is to award the best UST and Long Throw projectors in each of the attributes of picture quality.
