When designing a luxury home on the Dorado Beach Estates in Puerto Rico, it’s no surprise that breathtaking outdoor entertaining spaces are high on the agenda for most homeowners. This was certainly the challenge facing San Juan-based integrator Synkros on a recent project. The homeowner wanted a standout entertainment system for hosting poolside movie nights with family and friends and Stealth Acoustics has stepped up to the plate with its Stealth Patio Theater (SPT) providing the perfect solution.
Dorado Beach Estates is a luxury 1400-acre resort located on the pristine northern coast of Puerto Rico offering peaceful, ecologically friendly living, world-class restaurants, stunning golf courses, and extensive water sports and outdoor adventures. The premium properties located in the estates feature extensive outdoor areas that allow owners to soak up the beauty of the island in seclusion.
For this particular project, the homeowner wanted a multi-functional outdoor space that blended seamlessly with the interior of the home while offering multiple seating areas for relaxation, more formal dining, and entertaining, all surrounded by the lush vegetation that the island is known for.
The centerpiece of the outdoor space is a 156-inch partially recessed SPT Extreme P3 LED TV system with integrated soundbar from Stealth Acoustics that is positioned toward the rear of the garden. The soundbar rises with the screen and features Stealth’s speaker technology to produce high-quality 3.1 sound without grilles that can rust, making it a solution designed for longevity as well as entertainment.
Outdoor Week: Bringing the Indoors Outside
The cabinet is designed using laser-cut aluminum and stainless-steel materials, then finished with high-performance coatings to ensure it offers an unbeatable outdoor viewing experience without impacting the aesthetics of a space. The homeowner opted for a green finish, helping the unit to blend with the surrounding trees and lawn.
Realizing the project was a collaborative effort, the team at Synkros worked closely with Stealth Acoustics, the contractor, and the architect to prepare the site for this impressive addition. The system journeyed smoothly from the Stealth factory in Mount Vernon, Washington, to Puerto Rico, and installation began with careful placement of the TV using a crane to navigate the completed landscaping. Once the TV was positioned, the Synkros team installed the screen frame, soundbar, and tiles, seamlessly integrating all the technology into the existing control system.
The installation was completed just in time for a Super Bowl party, where guests were amazed by the theater’s quality and ease of use. The success of this event, followed by a Kentucky Derby party, has made the Extreme Patio Theater a highlight of the homeowner’s backyard, bringing excitement and satisfaction to the client and enhancing their outdoor living space.
