BitWise Controls wanted to make its Roku and DirecTV modules easier to integrate, more robust, compatible, and versatile. That, the app-based control and automation systems provider says, is what dealers will notice in its updated modules on the BitWise Dealer Store.
Both DirecTV modules on the BitWise Dealer Store—including the DirecTV Genie GUI Module and the standalone DirecTV GUI Module—have been updated with support for BitWise’s Room Remote.
These modules—single files containing pre-configured GUI content and device programming—are designed to make it easier and more efficient for integrators to set up, design, and install various products and subsystems. The integrator can not only download the latest modules and updates on the store, but see his or her entire module purchase history, making it simple to give clients important updates or additions, and re-download modules in the future.

According to the company, its Roku GUI Module makes it simple for integrators to add Roku media player functionality to a BitWise Controls user interface. The module automatically creates a scrolling list that includes artwork for selection of any channel installed on the Roku player. Because Roku players don’t allow installers to set static IP addresses, this module uses the serial number of the player to automatically discover it on the network. The most recent update to the BitWise Roku GUI Module improves performance and fixes a minor button-mapping inconsistency.

Both DirecTV modules on the BitWise Dealer Store—including the DirecTV Genie GUI Module and the standalone DirecTV GUI Module—have been updated with support for BitWise’s Room Remote (for systems using BitWise BC1 and BC2 controllers only). These updates come on the heels of other improvements; such as an update to the Genie GUI’s manual “Tune” function.
