Now available for download on the iTunes App Store, the new Crestron apps for iPad and iPhone, feature exclusive Smart Graphics, enabling sliders, knobs, technology dashboards, scrolling lists, widgets and other iOS-like features in the app and on Crestron touchscreens.

Additionally, Smart Graphics enable programmers to save a touchscreen project as an iPad, iPhone, or iPod Touch project and then upload it, reducing programming time.

“The new Crestron apps with Smart Graphics change the playing field for iOS mobile user interface deployment,” said Dave Hatz, senior design engineer at AVI Systems. “Now we can offer our customers a user experience that’s identical to what they know and love on their iDevices and on the installed touch screen. Plus, it’s as quick and easy to deploy as the XPanel has been for many years.”

The Crestron apps integrate Apple iOS 6 devices with Crestron 2-Series and 3-Series= control systems to enable monitoring and control of lights, media, climate, and security from anywhere with a mobile broadband or Wi-Fi connection. The apps also enable video viewing from IP-based security cameras, communication with other Crestron touchscreens using Rava SIP intercom, and integration with third-party apps.

Crestron encourages its dealers to download the new apps for all new projects to take advantage of new Smart Graphics features or to reinvigorate the Crestron touchscreen experience and generate incremental sales from existing clients. The download is free and the full version is enabled through in-app purchase. The apps include a demo mode that provides simulated operation without a connection to a Crestron control system.
