To help integrators manage IP-based and Crestron Cresnet devices, eServices is now shipping the Varan Monitor, a monitoring device that notifies the integrator of potential issues within a system.

The Varan Monitor box

Varan Monitor is name for a product/concept that was originally reported by Residential Systems as the Black Box or Black Box Monitoring.

The Varan Monitor provides integrators with the ability to monitor, evaluate, and trigger any LAN or Cresnet system device from a web interface.

The appliance provides authorized users with a portal to perform stable on-site project maintenance from remote locations as necessary, potentially correcting a problem before a homeowner is ever aware of an issue. If unsuccessful the integrator will still be aware of the devices offline status and can take immediate action to solve the problem before a complaint is ever made. The monitor will save valuable time on service calls and system maintenance all the while improving customer service and satisfaction.

The Varan Monitor also offers integrators a reliable source of recurring revenue streams, yet eliminates dependency on outside service providers. Unlike most remote monitoring products and services that require integrators to commit to lengthy service contracts, each Varan Monitor is available for one-time, fixed cost.

“Varan Monitor provides custom integrators with a reliable, easy-to-install remote monitoring service,” said Stephen Harrington, president of eServices. “Integrators now have the ability to offer their clients an enhanced level of technical support and customer services while simultaneously creating new revenue streams for their own businesses.”

Professional integrators attending CEDIA EXPO 2010 will have the opportunity to learn more about the Varan Monitor at the eServices booth 4365
