Panamax, Furman Sound Promote Swan to VP

Chris Swan says his goals are to facilitate rapid product development and to lead the companies' operations.

Petaluma, CA–Panamax/Furman Sound has promoted Chris Swan to vice president of operations for both companies. Swan has served as Panamax’s director of operations since 2000.

“Chris has successfully integrated the operations department for Furman and Panamax over the past year,” said Bill Pollock, president of Panamax/Furman Sound. “He is extremely deserving of this promotion.”

The Panamax/Furman Sound operations integration has resulted in better inventory management, more efficient supply chain management, and faster time to market for new products.

Since joining Panamax in 1994, Swan has been instrumental in getting the company ISO 9000 certified, maintaining inventory levels to support rapid growth, and creating world-class product development systems. In addition, Swan led the shift to overseas manufacturing allowing the company to compete effectively in the global economy.

Before joining Panamax, Swan was an owner and vice president of JEMCO Enterprises Inc. He also worked at Kallen’s Computer Products and Seagate Technologies. Swan holds a bachelor’s degree in business administration from San Jose State University.

“My goals are to facilitate rapid product development and to lead our outstanding operations team in these exciting times,” said Swan.

Swan will be based in Petaluma, California, and will report to Bill Pollock.
