Rainbow Fish Fiber Optic, Inc. has appointed NetOpt of Brisbane to distribute its line of Fiber Optic HDMI cables to the professional, residential and consumer electronics trades in Australia, New Zealand and Fiji.
NetOpt will distribute Rainbow Fish Fiber Optic HDMI cables in Australia, New Zealand and Fiji.
“Rainbow Fish Fiber Optic HDMI is the best choice for long distance HDMI. High definition video connections for distributed video networks, digital signage, and home theater can be easily made with Rainbow Fish. Our product combines two technologies; fiber optics and HDMI and we are the first company in the world to do this. It’s a truly remarkable invention,” said Buzz Delano of Rainbow Fish Fiber Optic.
Rainbow Fish cables convert the HDMI input signal to optical signal at the source and pass the signal through fiber optics to the display device where the connector converts the optical signal back to HDMI for easy connection to an HDMI input. Power is supplied internally with Rainbow Fish. The source (send) connector draws the required power from the HDMI output while the display (receive) connector includes a USB connector for power to be drawn from an available USB port on the display. The USB power may be extended via a 5V USB to AC adapter should no USB port be accessible.
NetOpt is an information and telecommunications company with a focus on virtualization, and infrastructure solutions with a niche and value-add distribution business for technology solutions to re-sellers and system integrators with local knowledge of their regions and the ability to educate and create awareness of new technology solutions.
“We are very delighted to partner with Rainbow Fish,” said Rick Nand, product manager for NetOpt. “This partnership and together with the innovative Fiber Optic HDMI Cable will be our first foray into the AV sector. Our engineers have tested the cable internally and with one of our broadcast partners and the results exceeded all test benchmarks. We are looking forward to offering the Fiber Optic HDMI cable via our retail partners and through custom installers. We will be working closely with Rainbow Fish in developing the local market.”
“Rainbow Fish offers electronic systems professionals the best way to do business in the complex HDMI connectivity market. Both of our companies are focused on technology, performance and installation benefits to the trade so NetOpt and Rainbow Fish are quite compatible,” Delano and Nand concluded in a joint comment.
