One year after launching its award-winning 3D Constant Stereoscopic Video (CSV) technology at CEDIA 2010, Runco launched the D-113d, the latest addition to its 3Dimension series. This new model features the most brightness and allows for the largest screen sizes of any Runco projector ever. The D-113d is capable of blasting out 11,570 lumens and driving screens up to 420-inches wide, making it the perfect solution for very large, private home cinemas. In its demonstration, the system produced 100-foot lamberts on a 215-inch wide screen.

“This year we’ve been working very closely with Panavision to make 3D done right on a very large scale,” explains Runco’s VP of marketing, Jennifer Davis, referring to the same Panavision 3D system that has been developed for premiere commercial cinemas.

This new dual-projection system doesn’t require any polarization, meaning that images are “white screen” compatible and both 2D and 3D can be shown on the same screen. “Installers can select any screen material or manufacturer they like,” Davis added.

The D-113d comes in a broad range of lens options for different throw distances and screen sizes and can be customized with Runco’s FinishPalette, allowing owners the ability to personalize the look of the projector to complement their décor. The D-113d will be available in October.

Runco also demonstrated the latest addition to its LightStyle series with the groundbreaking new LS-100d. This features an ultra-short throw lens system that is capable of displaying a 92-inch diagonal image while sitting mere inches from the screen. The 18-inch-deep projector mounts flush to the screen wall, and can be mounted above or below the screen. Davis states that this allows installers to “put a projector in places where projection was never considered before become of room constraints.” Further, the LS-100d incorporates Runco’s InfiniLight lampless LED technology, providing quiet, energy-efficient operation without the need to replace bulbs.
