Miramar, FL — SIM2, the Italian manufacturer of high-definition home-theater projectors, is reporting that its year-end momentum has continued through first quarter 2008 with an increase in home theater dealer sales and the successful introduction of an HDR-enabled LCD prototype designed for Dolby Laboratories, to begin the second quarter with a Dealer Award Trip to Italy.
Quixel Research named the SIM2 C3X 1080 the top-selling front projector over $10,000 for Q4 2007. The C3X 1080 represents a large part of SIM2s home theater dealer sales, which increased nine percent for Q1 2008 over Q1 2007.
Based on the performance of the C3X 1080, SIM2 is being welcomed into new territories by premier specialist retailers and system integrators, said Charlie Boornazian, SIM2s VP of sales and marketing. Looking ahead, we expect to see a steady upward climb, despite the inconsistent economy. We will bring additional category-leading products to the market over the next few months to keep us ahead of the pack.
SIM2 recently worked with Dolby Laboratories to bring the 46-inch HDR-enabled LCD prototype display from concept to reality. Dolbys HDR technologies utilize the capabilities of LED-based backlight units (BLUs) offering groundbreaking contrast and brightness unlike anything else ever seen before. The prototype, which features 1,838 LEDs, impressed industry media during its recent world premiere. SIM2 is extremely proud to have been selected by Dolby to build the prototype for this exciting, ground-breaking new technology, Boornazian said.
In May, SIM2 USA will bring its top-performing dealers to the corporate headquarters in Pordenone, Italy. Its an incredible opportunity for the dealers to see the factory while taking in the breathtaking scenes of the region. This will be the first of whats to become an exciting annual event that our dealers should look forward to, Boornazian added.
