SupplyStream, the web-based platform that aggregates industry products and suppliers into a single website for dealers, strengthens its team by adding Joe Piccirilli, former managing director of AVAD, and Lawrence Davis III, former VP of sales and marketing at Atlantic Technology. Piccirilli and Davis bring more than 70 years of combined industry experience to SupplyStream.
Joe Piccirilli
Piccirilli joins the SupplyStream board of directors and will take on an active, advisory role as SupplyStream expands. In 2013, Piccirilli was named one of the industry’s “Top 20 Most Influential People of the Past 20 Years” by EH Publishing. Joe was one of the founders of Sound Advice and orchestrated the first national network of distributors, AVAD, which was later sold to Ingram Micro in 2005 for an estimated $200M. While bringing his expertise to SupplyStream, Piccirilli will continue to act as full-time managing director of Rosewater Energy Group.
“Not since my days with AVAD have I seen such an opportunity to radically improve the way dealers purchase products in the CE industry” said Piccirilli. “The industry is in need of modern technology that can help distributors and manufacturers stay relevant in the ‘Amazonified’ world to which dealers are now accustomed. It’s a massive undertaking to modernize an industry but this team has it figured out. I love solving big problems, which is what drew me to SupplyStream.”
Along with Piccirilli, “Audio Guru” and industry veteran Lawrence Davis III joins SupplyStream as VP of business development/supplier relations. Davis has spent the last 35 years at the manufacturer level with such companies as Artison, Monster Cable, Bang & Olufsen, and most recently, Atlantic Technology. In his new position, Davis will work directly with manufacturers and distributors, assisting them with integrating their products into the SupplyStream platform.
“The opportunity to join SupplyStream was one that I couldn’t pass up. Their vision for an easier dealer buying experience piqued my interest, but it was their team that sealed the deal. They are an impressive technology development company that is evenly balanced by a strong founding group of ex-dealers. I am excited to round out the team with a manufacturer’s perspective. I believe SupplyStream is a game changing concept that will help bring our industry into the 21st century,” said Davis.
Davis will accompany Josh Willits, founder of recently acquired Invenshare.com, on the business development team. With the addition of Davis, Willits will shift his focus to dealerrelations where he will support existing dealers and create strategic programs to bring new ones to the platform.
“We couldn’t be happier to welcome Joe and Lawrence to SupplyStream. Three years ago we had the crazy idea to organize our industry’s information and make it easier for dealers to do business. Every week we are making progress by bringing new manufacturers and distributors onto the platform. Now, with the addition of Joe and Lawrence, we can foster partnerships that will elevate the dealer experience by integrating key suppliers,” said Kirk Chisholm, founder and CEO of SupplyStream.
