URC Releases Four Control Drivers for Total Control

URC has released four two-way, fully-vetted Control Modules (drivers) for control of third-party devices in URC Total Control whole-house home automation systems.

URC has released four two-way, fully-vetted Control Modules (drivers) for control of third-party devices in URC Total Control whole-house home automation systems.

The new drivers allow two-way communication between URC Total Control interfaces (remotes and in-way touchpanels) and the following products: Lutron Caseta Wireless, Aprilaire, DSC Security panels, and Fusion Ovation A/V Player Server. Using these modules, users can review two-way feedback from these products such as lighting levels (Lutron), alarm zone status (DSC), for example. While some modules are developed by the third-party manufacturers themselves, the majority of the modules are produced internally by URC engineers, thereby giving URC greater control over quality and continuity of the drivers. This group of drivers is available now. A new driver for Sonos music systems is expected to become available very soon. All drivers are provided to authorized URC dealers free of charge.

Two-way modules, also known as control drivers, can be downloaded from URC’s dealer-only, password-protected website, The URC Control Room, and installed in URC Accelerator, the program editor for Total Control products. Total Control divers also function identically in URC’s ccGEN2™ systems. All drivers created by URC are free of charge. To assist third-party developers, URC offers an SDK.
