Valens, the developer of HDBaseT technology and a founding member of the HDBaseT Alliance, has been awarded Sony Corporation’s Green Partner Certificate, which underscores the company’s commitment to sustainable research and manufacturing practices.
Sony designates suppliers that cooperate in the production of environmentally sensitive products as Green Partners since 2001, with the aim of encouraging suppliers to introduce Green Partner environmental management systems. The set of regulations and requirements to be certified as a Green Partner include banning or controlling environmental-damaging materials and processes, sustainability processes, and regular auditing to guarantee compliance and performance.
To pass Sony’s qualification and audit process, Valens met the strict requirements of Sony Standard SS-00259 concerning segregation and use of regulated substances. In addition, Valens provided Sony with detailed documentation attesting that all manufactured products and operational processes are compliant.
“We are proud to be a Green Partner to Sony, as we consider environmental sustainability and responsible supply chain management as extremely important values to our company. Valens continuously looks to improve quality and environmental processes to meet customers’ highest expectations and requirements,” said Helen Buchumensky, director of operations and quality at Valens.
