Bluesound has announced the new PULSE SUB, a completely redesigned wireless powered subwoofer built to bring greater depth, impact, and immersion to movies, music, TV, and games. Featuring a 350-watt amplifier, dual-opposing 6.5-inch woofers, and wireless integration via BluOS, the PULSE SUB delivers bass you can feel from a compact design that fits naturally into the home.
For Bluesound customers looking to bring more depth and impact to their system, the PULSE SUB makes adding powerful bass as simple as adding another Bluesound Player. Built for the BluOS ecosystem, it connects wirelessly to compatible Bluesound products and pairs in just a few steps through the BluOS Controller app. Add it to the PULSE CINEMA or PULSE CINEMA MINI wireless soundbars for a more immersive home theater experience, or pair it with the POWERNODE wireless streaming amp to bring deeper, more musical bass to favorites.
Inside the PULSE SUB, two custom 6.5-inch woofers operate in an opposing configuration, driven by a 350-watt amplifier with Smart DSP technology. With 2.5x more power than the previous generation, the new architecture delivers the deep, dynamic low-frequency performance that brings explosive movie moments, dramatic scores, and playlist favorites to life.
By positioning the woofers opposite one another, mechanical forces are counteracted to reduce unwanted cabinet vibration and resonance. The cabinet stays nearly still while the drivers do the work, producing bass that is deep, clean and controlled.
PULSE SUB was designed as the natural pair for the PULSE CINEMA and PULSE CINEMA MINI wireless soundbars, giving Bluesound customers a simple way to add deeper bass to their wireless home theater experience. Using BluOS and a few quick steps, the PULSE SUB wirelessly discovers and pairs to the soundbar in the app, where users can also fine-tune volume, crossover and phase to best fit their system and room.
The PULSE SUB also connects to other Bluesound Players including the POWERNODE, PULSE M, and PULSE FLEX, bringing greater low-frequency performance and impact to Bluesound systems throughout the home. A low line-level analog input also allows PULSE SUB to operate as a wired active subwoofer with other audio systems.
At just over one square foot of floor space, the PULSE SUB and its compact enclosure feel smaller than it sounds and are designed to sit naturally alongside modern furniture and décor in contemporary living spaces. The completely new industrial design continues the visual ID introduced across Bluesound’s latest PULSE wireless speakers. Soft contours and tonal-weave fabric grilles give the subwoofer touches of elegance, while the matte satin finishes match the full Bluesound line. Integrated cable management channels keep wiring neatly routed and out of sight, with the wireless flexibility to position the subwoofer where it looks and performs its best.
As part of the BluOS ecosystem, the PULSE SUB is designed to make adding bass to a Bluesound system simple. Connect it to the network via Wi-Fi or Ethernet, select the compatible Bluesound Player in the BluOS Controller app, and pair the subwoofer wirelessly. The app then provides full control of volume, crossover frequency and phase, giving users the flexibility to dial in performance for their room and system.
The PULSE SUB will be available later this year at $1099 USD and $1299 CAD through authorized Bluesound retailers, bluesound.com, and Amazon. Pre-orders for the PULSE SUB will also be available at a later date from bluesound.com.
