Harman Releases New JBL Speakers and Mark Levinson Amps at High End Munich

Announcements include three new JBL Summit Series models and the Mark Levinson 600 Series.

At High End Munich 2025, Harman Luxury Audio Group announced the world debut of three new additions to the JBL Summit Series and the launch of the Mark Levinson 600 Series.

JBL Summit Series

The expanded Summit Series now spans five models — including the JBL Everest and K2 — and introduces three new designs — Makalu, Pumori, and Ama. With the addition of Summit Makalu, Summit Pumori, and Summit Ama, JBL offers a lineup that blends refined design, proprietary technologies, and unmatched dynamic performance. Each model is inspired by a Himalayan peak and crafted to deliver unparalleled sound reproduction that stirs emotion and reveals new layers in every recording.

  • Summit Makalu: Named after Makalu, the world’s fifth-highest mountain and an imposing pyramid-shaped peak located just 19 kilometers (12 miles) from Everest, the Summit Makalu commands attention with its bold stature and breathtaking sonic scale. As the flagship of the new additions, this 3-way floorstanding loudspeaker is designed to anchor large, immersive listening spaces with deep, articulate bass and soaring midrange detail. A 12-inch woofer and 8-inch midrange driver — both utilizing JBL’s proprietary HC4 composite cones — work in harmony with the patented D2 compression driver and precision-molded HDI Sonoglass horn to deliver stunning dynamics and crystal-clear imaging. The Makalu’s contoured cabinet, offered in rich ebony veneer with gold accents or high-gloss piano black with platinum detailing, makes a powerful visual statement befitting its namesake.
  • Summit Pumori: Inspired by Mount Pumori, affectionately known as the “Daughter of Everest,” the Summit Pumori captures the mountain’s grace and strength in sonic form. This 3-way floorstanding model is voiced for musical balance and purity. Its 10-inch woofer and 8-inch midrange driver are tuned to bring lifelike scale and warmth to every performance, while JBL’s signature D2 compression driver and HDI horn architecture preserve nuance and clarity. With its softly contoured cabinet, luxurious finishes, and emotionally engaging performance, Pumori delivers a transcendent listening experience grounded in heritage and beauty.
  • Summit Ama: Derived from Ama Dablam, one of the Himalayas’ most iconic and picturesque peaks whose name means “Mother’s Necklace,” the Summit Ama is designed to reveal the heart of the music. This 2-way stand-mount loudspeaker pairs an 8-inch HC4 cone woofer with a D2 compression driver and HDI horn to deliver exceptional clarity, control, and coherence across the frequency spectrum. The Summit Ama’s elegant cabinet rests on a matching steel-and-aluminum stand.
JBL New Summit Series Loudspeakers

Each Summit Series loudspeaker cabinet is heavily braced, softly contoured, and built to eliminate resonance. Binding posts are wrapped in carbon fiber and plated in rhodium. JBL’s proprietary MultiCap crossover network ensures purity and performance throughout the entire audio chain. Each model integrates JBL IsoAcoustics adjustable isolation feet — ensuring that its sound remains as pure as the mountain that inspired it.

The new additions to the JBL Summit Series will be globally available later in 2025 through authorized JBL retailers and partners. The recommended retail prices are $19,995 USD per pair for the JBL Summit Ama including stands, $29,995 USD for a pair of JBL Summit Pumori, and $44,995 USD for a set of JBL Summit Makalu.

Mark Levinson 600 Series

The 600 Series redefines what’s possible from preamplifiers and amplifiers, delivering an experience of power, precision, and purity that is unmistakably Mark Levinson. The series introduces three new reference components: the № 626 dual-monaural preamplifier, the № 632 dual-monaural amplifier, and the flagship № 631 Monaural Amplifier — all designed, engineered, and assembled in the USA.

Each model is built upon Mark Levinson’s proprietary Pure Path circuit philosophy and features the brand’s iconic Tectonic industrial design, which is sculpted from solid aluminum and accented with red signature lighting that glows like embers beneath volcanic glass. Every detail, from the custom-machined enclosures to the glass core and mechanically isolated foot architecture, speaks to the brand’s commitment to performance and purity.

  • № 626: The № 626 dual-monaural preamplifier is a celebration of sonic fidelity, blending an all-analog signal path with a high-resolution digital core. At its heart is the Precision Link III DAC, capable of decoding up to 32-bit/384 kHz PCM and native DSD audio through its six digital inputs. The analog stage is anchored by a fully balanced Pure Path architecture, while a Pure Phono MM/MC phono stage and Main Drive Class A headphone amplifier make the № 626 a complete solution for every source. Designed with modular isolation, dual power supplies, and vibration-damped foot architecture, this is a preamplifier that lets the music speak for itself and say everything.
  • № 632 and № 631: Designed for those who demand authority and refinement in equal measure, the № 632 dual-monaural amplifier and № 631 monaural amplifier deliver dynamic headroom and clarity that unveil the full scale of a performance.

Both amplifiers feature Class A/AB operation, Pure Path fully balanced signal paths, and robust toroidal power supplies housed within their own dedicated modular chassis. The № 632 offers stereo flexibility and dual-mono separation, while the № 631 delivers uncompromised performance as a single-channel powerhouse.

Mark Levinson 600 Series Amplifiers

The Mark Levinson 600 Series will be available in Q4 2025 through select Mark Levinson retailers and partners worldwide. The recommended retail prices are $25,000 USD for the № 626 or $30,000 USD for the № 632, and $40,000 USD for a single № 631.
