Monitor Audio has launched the new Vestra Subwoofer Series. Engineered and developed alongside Monitor Audio’s recently launched Anthra Series Subwoofers, each of the three Vestra Subwoofers — the W10, W12, and W15 — include an acoustic package that enables Monitor Audio to deliver on its ‘Transparent Design Philosophy,’ which couples superior design elements, intuitive user-experience, and advanced acoustic engineering.

Audio Enhancements
Monitor Audio has been at the forefront of metal cone driver technology and its development for close to four decades. Vestra subwoofers utilize Monitor Audio’s proprietary C-CAM cone technology (Ceramic-Coated Aluminium Magnesium) — a cone technology ideally suited for subwoofers. The properties of C-CAM ensure a more fatigue-resistant, stronger, and lighter cone. The result is a cone material that offers far greater pistonic movement under extreme stresses over standard aluminum cones.
Behind the C-CAM cones are powerful new motor systems, featuring triple suspension (W12 and W15), uprated venting, and larger, round-wound voice coils made of high purity copper wire. The suspension provides greater control and precision under extreme low frequencies, the venting supports greater airflow, reducing unwanted heat, and the larger voice coil delivers the highest possible BI (field strength). FEA optimization of the steel components also helps linearize the Bl curve — this results in improved consistency of the magnetic field through the gap, which reduces distortion.
The C-CAM bass driver surround has also been optimized. It allows the largest cone surface possible, so that the excursion is controlled without overstretching and causing distortion or breaking.
Amplification
Behind the high linear excursion C-CAM bass driver lies a formidable amplifier. A powerful Class-D 250-watt amplifier powers the Vestra W10, while a 500-Watt Class-D amplifier powers the Vestra W12 and W15. Each has been optimized and configured to match the drive unit and speaker system.

The amplifiers and their power supplies have been carefully designed in tandem, so that they work together for better efficiency and lower distortion. Furthermore, the amplifier enables a myriad of connectivity options, such as unbalanced stereo RCA, LFE unbalanced RCA inputs, useful DSP pre-set configuration modes for in-room position optimization, and 12-volt trigger.
Cabinet Strength
Vestra subwoofers cabinets are meticulously crafted for both aesthetic elegance and acoustic performance. They are built with rigid, reinforced and braced 15mm thick MDF and finished in contemporary black or white vinyl, with painted matte, 21mm thick front baffles. The internal bracing ensures stability and enhances sound precision. Each cabinet minimizes unwanted resonance, delivering pure, undistorted bass that resonates deeply.
The W10 and W12 models benefit from a fully sealed enclosure, ideal for placement versatility, while the larger W15 utilizes a ported design, extending low-frequency extension further for maximum bass slam.
