AVA has announced AVA OS 3, the biggest evolution of its professional smart home control platform since AVA OS debuted at CEDIA Expo 2023. Launching September 15 with AVA OS 3.0, the new generation gives professional installers increased freedom to create control experiences around each home, room, and client — while preserving the speed, consistency, and simplicity that define AVA OS.
AVA OS 3.0 brings more than 100 new tools, features, integrations, and improvements, led by a new visual Custom UI Builder, Dynamic Keypad customization, 31 languages, Crestron Home and Philips Hue compatibility, KNX general availability, and new ways to back up, restore, and expand projects. Every capability comes as a free software update for compatible AVA systems, including those already installed.
AVA OS intelligently generates the user interfaces for Cinema Remote and for the AVA app running on wall panels, tablets, PCs, and Macs — all based on the project’s devices and connections.
The new Custom UI Builder lets pros freely reshape the generated interface with a live visual preview. Buttons, widgets, cover art, and other elements can be positioned directly, making it faster to tailor AVA Cinema Remote, wall panels, tablets, PCs, and Macs.
AVA OS 3.0 opens AVA’s patented Dynamic Keypad to full customization for the first time. Cinema Remote has a main touchscreen for browsing and navigating media and a separate Dynamic Keypad below it. Its three-dimensional glass feels and clicks like traditional buttons, allowing control without looking down. AVA OS generates a keypad layout for every touchscreen view; labels and functions shift from playback to channel controls as the experience changes, while only needed controls appear and essentials such as cursor navigation and volume stay where users expect them.
AVA OS 3.0 lets pros customize every generated layout: keep the intelligent starting point, choose a recommended alternative, personalize colors, or use FreeStyle to drag controls from the main touchscreen onto the keypad — from lighting scenes and favorite commands to project-specific functions.
A redesigned Flow Editor, custom wallpapers, font-size controls, and additional interface tools give pros even more ways to refine the experience without rebuilding the system underneath it.
With AVA OS 3.0, the platform expands to 31 languages and regional variants across both the customer experience and AVA’s configuration tools.
AVA OS 3.0 moves KNX, one of the world’s most widely adopted building automation standards, from beta to general availability — extending compatibility to thousands of products from hundreds of manufacturers across Europe, the Middle East, Asia, and beyond.
AVA OS 3.0 expands Lutron integration with Caséta and RadioRA 2, the latter especially relevant in Europe. They join existing support for RadioRA 3 and HomeWorks.
AVA is releasing AVA OS 3.0 as a free over-the-air update to all AVA OS systems on September 15.
